The selection process to get finance for study abroad

The existence of stereotype that winners of grants to study abroad must be a genius is not exactly true. I have one more than 10 grants to different types of international mobility, and I am absolutely not a genius. However, it is definitely not an easy process, and I spent around three years understanding the peculiarities of succeeding in it. Then, after choosing proper grant where all your background like the area of interest, country, age, qualifications and language tests are appropriate, it is time to focus on the necessary documents and the quality of preparation. It is worth mentioning that all documents should be prepared in a perfect way because it is exactly, them that show your potential, leadership skills and competitiveness.

For instance, CV looks like the easiest documents to make. Nevertheless, it is the document which depicts your leadership experience, and if it is just one page long, it Is not very competitive curriculum vitae.

I would advise you to work it out better. On the one hand, you should remember any participation in social projects, forums, conferences, any volunteer work or any experience you don’t consider very valuable. In fact, it may increase your opportunities. Publications are a very good tool to point out your hard work and purposefulness.

So, if you don’t have any publication, then it is worth starting to write them. Participation in any international online competition in your area of interest would also improve your position. Even if you don’t get any awards, it is still the sign of your leadership attempts. At least two pages of your real work, experience and contribution will enhance your place in the competition.

Further, education qualification is the one which should be with a high score. Unfortunately, if you worked bad during your school, university, and it is seen in your marks during your study, it is a failure as it is not possible to change anything anymore. However, you may pay attention to any volunteer projects where you can get international experience and such types of grants not always ask for the high marks.

Thus, if you are fine with previous documents, you have a great CV and high marks at school, then you passed the first level in examining during the first phase of the process. Continue to work hard to create other papers required in application like motivation letter, letters of recommendation, and research proposal.

As my experience shows especially concerning the style and research issues for research proposal, so many countries, so many features to write it.

Anyway, don’t be upset if at first, you will not get a positive result in the application, keep trying, and constant attempts will definitely lead you to success. Persistence is the main weapon in the fight for a scholarship!
